Finance/Business Manager
The Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts (FNC), a Dorchester
based non-profit that provides a variety of family support and parent
education services is seeking an experienced Finance/Business Manager.
Founded in 1994, FNC has a budget of just over a million dollars
and has a healthy mix of state contract, and grant funding. FNC
offers a spirited, supportive work environment, competitive salary,

The Business Manager reports to the Executive Director, and works
closely with the Finance Committee of the Board, the Development
Officer and other staff as necessary.
Responsibilities include:
Financial Management
- Maintain appropriate financial systems; perform all bookkeeping,
including cash disbursements and receipts, budgeting and budget
monitoring.
- Prepare financial data for annual audit; work with auditor and
Board Finance Committee.
- Manage payroll system, prepare financials, monitor cash flow
and produce monthly reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, deposit checks.
- Maintain system for expense reimbursements to staff.
- Manage state contracts; prepare financial reports for grant
reporting requirements.
Human Resource Administration
- Maintain personnel files
- Administer benefits programs; oversee enrollment process
- Maintain employee handbook
- Initiate CORI/SORI and maintain records
Technology
- Responsible for backing up file server
- Primary liaison with IT outsource support personnel
Office administration and management
- Manage building/tenant relationship
- Manage vendor relationships; maintain files of warrantees and
service
- agreements, and troubleshoot re: interruptions in equipment
services
- Maintain office systems
- Maintain adequate liability and other insurance contracts
Required Experience and Skills: The ideal candidate will
have 5 or more years of accounting and office management experience,
high level of organization, detail, and ability to handle multiple
assignments. Excellent writing skills and familiarity with Microsoft
Office & QuickBooks software are required. The candidate must
exercise initiative, be able to work well with a diverse constituency,
have a commitment to excellence and to the mission of FNC and have
a strong team-oriented work style.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Hours: 25-40hrs-Flexible hours possible
