Birth, Foster & Kinship Family Nurturing Program

Designed specifically to support birth families and foster or kinship families as they work through the placement experience, this program brings birth parents, foster parents, and the children they share together for 12 weekly sessions.  The curriculum maintains an emphasis on competencies in the Nurturing Parenting Constructs and addresses various issues around improving communication, bolstering empathy among the families, and prioritizing the needs of the child(ren) involved.

Family Nurturing Center coordinates or supports at least one Birth, Foster & Kinship Nurturing Program with a DCF area office each year.  Referrals or questions should be directed to Sue Parker.
